Students call on universities to better equip them for work

According to a CBI / National Union of Students (NUS) survey published this week, over half (57%) of students want universities to do more to help them understand employability skills, such as customer awareness, team working and self management.

Unsurprisingly 79% of the students surveyed said that their primary reason for going to university was to improve their job opportunities and two thirds wanted more support in the previously mentioned skills.

And with 82% of businesses regarding employability skills as the most important consideration when recruiting graduates it is more important than ever that graduates can meet these requirements.

The Student Room offers recruiters and universities alike to have official representation within it’s forums, which would allow them to interact directly with those most in need from the sites 3.9 million monthly visitors.
