Parliament seeks The Student Room’s help to talk to young people
The Education Select Committee at the House of Commons is conducting an inquiry into what services are provided for young people aged 13 to 15 outside school, and naturally The Student Room is the place to come to hear from young people.
We created a ‘Parliament wants your view’ page specifically for this event which aimed to get in contact with young people to find out what they do outside of school, what services are available and how they make use of them.
They are asking four main questions:
You might be wondering why they chose The Student Room to communicate with 13 to 15 year olds? Surely they’re all on Facebook?
They most likely are however The Student Room offers an arena for students to share their views and discuss the things that matter to them in a way that they can’t on Facebook and Bebo.
It was this format and the fact that we have over 3.9 million unique visitors to the site each month that made it the perfect place for the Education Select Committee to engage with their audience and get the detailed responses that they need.
