Congratulations to Chris Peatfield, winner of The Student Room sponsored Rising Star Award

On April 4th, over 1000 of the great and good of the graduate recruitment market were at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane for the annual TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards. The Student Room were proud sponsors of the Rising Star Award, which showcases ‘the unique contribution made to an organisation by recent graduate recruits’.

In attendance from The Student Room were Chris Newson, CEO, James Kemp, Business Development Manager and a number of clients and industry professionals.

As the event is a celebration of all things graduate recruitment and marketing over the last 12 months, it was a great opportunity to treat our clients to a night out and get to know them better.

The host for the evening was one Mr David Walliams. A totally unexpected surprise and a very good host, keeping everyone laughing throughout the evening.

He guided us through a total of 24 awards including the Rising Star Award; won by Mr Chris Peatfield – a Technical Co-Ordinator from Barratt Developments. Chris saw off stiff competition from 9 other finalists from some of the biggest employers in the UK.

A live band kept the party going into the early hours, making sure there were sore heads all round the next day. But we’re already looking forward to next year.
